>Ironically, if you have good looking you will get hired easily in Indonesia. So where will the average or ugly people like me go?Those “ugly ones” are probably the employers (entrepreneurs).

I guess it happens everywhere esp. in Asia. According to the survey by a company in Taiwan, people who have good looking have more possibilities to be hired than those who don’t have.Yes, people will limits to age and sex on the ads. However, it is rare to ask for “good looking” though it is still regarded as one of the ways to choose employees according to survey to bosses and managers.

In this millineum era it surprise me that the employment system over there is prety far behind. I thought they are improving than 30 years ago. What a snail ?!No wonder that Indonesia is getting prety famous with gender and race discrimination in the eyes of the world.
It make me questioning what the Employment minister has been doing and how is his/her ability to improve that.
By the way, I wonder how the minister looks like. Is he or she good looking and attractive too ?
Do you have his or her picture ? let me see if he or she is good looking enough to be a minister based on Indonesian employment requirement.
To Lyl, here is the picture of our Manpower Minister:

It is irony that Indonesia which claims themselves as a country who cares about human right and has its Justice and Human Rights Minister, Hamid Awaluddin, still practices discrimination at work publicly.

Beside that, there is Manpower and Transmigration Minister, Erman Suparno who oversees employment issue. Yet, this two ministers have not touched this important matter.

How do they feel if we said:
appearence: not attractive,
weight: overweight.
height: are they shorty ?
age: are they 65? they should feel happy if they are 70.
marital status: are they monogomy or polygami or phedophile ?
What is their education ?
are they computer savy ?
I think they should pass the bill that companies can’t do a discrimination. How the ugly and old like us will get the job there. What about the disable person like Gusdur ? can Gusdur a job as the office boy ? don’t event dream.
I can’t believe that this can get overlooked.
Can they think that having a job is important ?
Thank God that you’re here. It’s not worth it leaving there, because we are ugly and will not get a job.
Lyl,
You have represented unfortunate people in Indonesia. I believe they hundred millions. They are waiting with full of hope that the decision makers (all employers and goverment officials like Justice and Human Rights Minister, Hamid Awaluddin, and Manpower and Transmigration Minister, Erman Suparno) would care about the discrimination issue at work).
You have great passion and thought, Lyl.
