In a discussion with one of my colleagues, he mentioned an interview conducted on December 14, 2005 by Peter F Gontha on QTV, an Indonesian TV channel with Jefrrey Winters, Ph.D, a Southeast Asian Political Economy Professor from Northwestern University, Chicago, USA.
Finally, I have the opportunity to watch it. There are 6 episodes on Youtube.com. At first, I thought it was already out of date, but after watching it, here is my impression, “Wow! Jeffrey is really being truthful and dare to be honest.”

Anymatters, what can I say? Even though the nation (US) which is known always conveys human right still have this kind of attitute. Winters’s statement even convinces me that there must be strong moral forces/pressure groups in every single nation to defend people’s basic human right.

I find the interview is very interesting and salute to a person like Jeffrey Winters in the hope that we can learn from that and achive/strive for a better society for our generations to come.

Tragedi Mei terjadi karena Indonesia terlena oleh bius IMF dan Bank Dunia. Keasyikan ngutang sementara cadangan devisa mendekati zero, sehingga pada saat dolar merajalela Indonesia tidak sanggup mengimbanginya,ditambah banyak utang yg sudah jatuh tempo (harus dibayar)pada saat yg bersamaan, jadilah Indonesiaku nyungsep tidak ada ampun, masih ingat photo Presiden RI menanda tangani LOI di depan Camdessus yg tersebar diseluruh dunia? (kalo lihat photo itu aku nangis). Akhirnya Suharto yang perkasa waktu itu menyerah kalah, karena dengan tanda tangan LOI itu seolah olah Indonesia sudah tergadaikan.Jadi mundurnya Suharto waktu itu bukan karena Demo Mahasiswa lho ya, jangan pada GR. Malaysia mempunyai cadangan devisa yg cukup kuat, sehingga mampu menandingi kedigdayaan dollar, sehingga malaysia cepat pulih dari krisis.
