Buku Aku Orang China? Narasi Pemikiran Politik Plus dari Seorang Tionghoa Muda memperkenalkan pandangan dan persepsi pemikiran politik dari salah satu di antara sekian juta etnik Tionghoa yang beragam di Indonesia.
Sesuai dengan kata plus di judul buku ini, penulis tidak hanya menarasikan pemikiran politik, tetapi juga menuturkan pemikiran ekonomi, manajemen, dan kepemimpinan organisasi dan aplikasinya di Indonesia.
Pemikiran plus ini mengisi sisi ilmu politik yang cenderung science for science atau ilmu murni, sedangkan ilmu ekonomi, manajemen, dan kepemimpinan organisasi cenderung mengarah ke aplikasi.
”Pemikiran politik plus ini diharapkan mampu diangkat ke permukaan karena penulis memiliki latar belakang pendidikan yang mutidisiplin,” tutur Didi Kwartanada dari Yayasan Nabil yang menerbitkan buku tulisan Dr Beni Bevly tersebut.
Beni adalah aktivis intelektual alumnus Jurusan Ilmu Politik, FISIP, Universitas Indonesia. Ia memiliki latar belakang pendidikan ilmu ekonomi, manajemen dan kepemimpinan organisasi yang bisa ditemui di OverseasThinkTankForIndonesia.com, yaitu suatu lingkar studi tentang Indonesia yang berlokasi di California Utara, Amerika Serikat.
Menurut Didi, hal lain adalah penulis berusaha keras untuk menarasikan fenomena sosial politik dan ekonomi Indonesia yang kompleks menjadi sederhana. ”Ia mengaitkan hampir setiap topik yang ia bahas dengan metafor kejadian sederhana sehari-hari yang pernah dialaminya. Diharapkan hal ini membuat bahasan pemikiran politik menjadi mudah dimengerti”.
Kelebihan buku ini adalah dianalisisnya potongan-potongan episode kehidupan penulis dengan pisau bedah ilmu-ilmu sosial (politik, ekonomi, manajemen, dan lain-lain) sehingga apa yang tersaji bukanlah hal-hal yang deskriptif-naratif, tetapi berupa analisis yang berkaitan dengan etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia, tambah Didi.
Beni Bevly yang lahir dan besar di Kalimantan Barat berusaha memberikan sumbangan pemikiran bagi pembangunan bangsa Indonesia. Di pihak lain, ia juga memperkaya khazanah pengetahuan dengan serba-serbi kehidupan yang berdialek Hakka (Khek) yang sejauh ini jarang muncul dalam kepustakaan tentang golongan etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia.
Sebelumnya, Yayasan Nabil menerbitkan Memoar Ang Yan Goan, tokoh pers Tionghoa yang peduli pembangunan bangsa Indonesia. Penerbitan yang juga didukung oleh Hastra Mitra ini semula terbit dalam bahasa Inggris yang kemudian diterjemahkan ke bahasa Indonesia oleh Tan Beng Hok.
Ang Yan Goan (Bandung 1894-Toronto 1984) semasa muda menjadi guru. Ia lalu berprofesi sebagai wartawan dan bergabung dengan grup Sinpo. Bersama Bung Karno, Ang Yan Goan membidani lahirnya harian Warta Bakti. (POM)

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
