Menjelang era reformasi 1998, saya ikut diantara komunitas persaudaraan lintasagama yang mendirikan tenda Tim Relawan untuk Kemanusiaan di kantor Pengurus Besar Nahdatul Ulama. Saya berjumpa dengan nahyidin muda yang mengisahkan kekaguman dalam rasa hormat pada sosok Abdurrahman Wahid.
